An atmosphere of gratitude and solemnity filled the Holy Mother of God’s Chapel, Pekalongan, Central Java, on Monday, December 29, 2025, during the Eucharistic Celebration of the Perpetual Vows of our three sisters. This moment of faith was an expression of gratitude for their definitive commitment to their vocation as a consecrated person.
Three sisters Srs. Maria Helena, SND, Maria Edmunda, SND, and Maria Clarisa, SND, professed their perpetual vows as a sign of lifelong commitment to God in the spirit of chastity, obedience, and poverty. Sr. M. Robertin, SND, Provincial of SND Indonesia, received the vows. This event was not only meaningful for the sisters who professed their vows, but also a sign of hope and blessing for the Congregation and the Church.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Bishop Christophorus Tri Harsono, Bishop of Purwokerto, together with other priests as concelebrants. The entire celebration took place in a solemn and contemplative manner, helping the faithful to realize that the call to consecrated life is a gift from God that is to be answered with daily fidelity.
In his homily, the bishop invited the faithful to reflect on the meaning of giving in life. He stated that life is a call to be a gift for God and for others through faithfulness, sacrifice, care, and encouraging words. He also emphasized that success in consecrated life is not a matter of recognition, but of a life shared, while true prestige comes from God, not from human praise.
The celebration was attended by the sisters, parents and families of the sisters, co-workers, youth, postulants, aspirants, and parishioners of St. Peter Parish in Pekalongan.
May their total commitment that has been strengthened through these perpetual vows bear more fruit in their service and love for many people.
