On Wednesday of Holy Week, the jubilarians met with the Provincial Superior, Sr. M. Paula, for a festive coffee reception, sharing with joy the stories of how they came to know the community and began their path of vocation.
In the same spirit of gratitude, Sr. M. Thiatilde looks back with joy on 75 years in the community of the Sisters of Notre Dame. Celebrating their 50th jubilee are Sr. M. Gaudentia Pelkmann, Sr. M. Christhilde Welberg, Sr. M. Hedwig Menke, Sr. M. Bernfried Schafeld, and Sr. M. Marthrud Berkemeier. Sr. M. Hedwig Neidecker and Sr. M. Elisabeth Siegbert from Münster are celebrating their diamond jubilee.
During Easter Week, Rev. Döcker from Rheine led the anniversary retreat, which featured plenty of singing and spiritual reflections based on images.
At the solemn closing Mass, Rev. Döcker expressed his gratitude for the jubilarians’ witness of faith and life and offered them the following motto to guide them: “Gratefully backward, courageously forward, faithfully upward.”
After a festive breakfast in the three refectories, there was a photo session followed by a toast with sparkling wine in the cafeteria. Our kitchen staff had also prepared a festive lunch for which nothing was lacking. The day concluded with an anniversary prayer service and a subsequent dinner.
