Sr. Pat Presentation (3)_w400Sister Patricia Dorobek, SND the Congregational Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation Coordinator presented on November 18, 2013 an overview of JPIC work.  Sister stressed that Justice, Peace, and the Integration of Creation is the lived expression of our charism.  As Sisters of Notre Dame, we are all called to promote JPIC in whatever we do.  It is the way we proclaim God as good and provident.  It is the mandate of the Gospel and the essence of our vocational call.  As formators, it is critical that the Church’s Social Teaching and concern for our sisters and brothers be an integral part of our formation experiences.

Sister Mary Sreeja, SND the Congregational Mission Coordinator addressed the formators in the afternoon of November 18.  Sister introduced to the formators the Congregational Mission Ad Gentes Policy Book, published in 2011 in response to the 2010 Chapter.  Our congregational growth in the missions since the 1960’s is remarkable. Sister kept the group engaged in all afternoon with her personal stories of mission life.

A number of sisters commented on how all of the presentations during the opening days of the conference complement each other.  The morning of November 19 was spent in prayer and reflection on all that has been said thus far. Later in the afternoon the formation team met in three groups – Postulants, Novices and Juniors to discuss the best practices and challenges of Formation.
