On January 21, 2017, hundreds of thousands of people participated in an historic women’s march which was initiated in Washington D.C. Annually this march is held in January which is also Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Several Sisters of Notre Dame joined local marches in support of rights, respect and freedom for all. It was not a protest march. In Ventura County near our Provincial Center, we were joined by some associates and students from La Reina High School and Middle School. Many people are worried about their health care which is a major concern for all. A local Chumash elder spoke about care for the environment, Mother Earth. The local atmosphere was positive, uplifting and enthusiastic which gave great encouragement to all attendees.
