In our Notre Dame school in Syokimau, Kenya, the student council election is always an exciting event during every academic year. The nomination of the potential leaders took place on January 9, 2024. The students gathered in their houses of Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow to nominate leaders. The nominated leaders met the Electoral Body and were instructed to prepare their campaign speeches.
On January 22, 2024, the nominated leaders appeared before the entire school to launch their campaigns. In their beautifully prepared speeches, they promised to be exemplary leaders and pledged their support to the staff. The students gathered for the 2024 School General Elections on the same day. The school hall was the Polling Station, and all the teachers were the Returning Officers. The chairman of the Notre Dame Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) gave a speech to the students and the directives for the voting process. The ballot papers and ballot boxes were put in place. The voting process went smoothly.
The tabulation of the votes was done. All the students gathered in the hall for the declaration of the winners. These learners were so excited to receive their new leaders.
Preparations for the induction of the new Students’ Government started immediately after the elections. The leaders had several orientation sessions and valuable practice.
The induction ceremony was genuinely colorful. Being the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, special prayers were offered for the new leaders. The leaders took the oath of office as the President, Deputy President, Governors and Deputy Governors of Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue houses, Cabinet Secretaries of various ministries, Class Secretaries, and Prefect, each with a unique role.
The whole procedure, from nominating leaders to launching manifestos, nomination, election, and induction, is very educational for our staff and students. The process meticulously follows the Social Studies Curriculum and helps the learners see what they have learned in class. It opens opportunities for them to exercise their leadership skills, and the process prepares them to become great leaders now and in the future.

In unserer Notre-Dame-Schule in Syokimau, Kenia, sind die Wahlen zum Schülerrat in jedem Schuljahr immer ein spannendes Ereignis. Die Nominierung der potenziellen Führungskräfte fand am 9. Januar 2024 statt. Die Schüler versammelten sich in ihren Häusern Rot, Grün, Blau und Gelb, um ihre Vertreter zu nominieren. Die nominierten Kandidaten trafen sich mit dem Wahlgremium und wurden angewiesen, ihre Wahlkampfreden vorzubereiten.
Am 22. Januar 2024 traten die nominierten Kandidaten vor der gesamten Schule auf, um ihren Wahlkampf zu eröffnen. In ihren gut vorbereiteten Reden versprachen sie, vorbildliche Führungspersönlichkeiten zu sein, und sagten dem Kollegium ihre Unterstützung zu. Am selben Tag versammelten sich die Schüler zu den allgemeinen Schulwahlen 2024. Die Aula der Schule war das Wahllokal, und alle Lehrerinnen und Lehrer waren die Wahlhelferinnen und Wahlhelfer. Der Vorsitzende der Unabhängigen Wahl- und Grenzkontrollkommission (IEBC) von Notre Dame hielt eine Rede vor den Schülern und gab die Richtlinien für den Wahlvorgang vor. Die Stimmzettel und Wahlurnen wurden an ihren Platz gestellt. Der Wahlvorgang verlief reibungslos.
Die Auszählung der Stimmen wurde vorgenommen. Alle Schüler versammelten sich in der Aula, um die Gewinner zu verkünden. Die Schüler waren sehr aufgeregt, ihre neuen Leiter zu empfangen.
Unmittelbar nach den Wahlen begannen die Vorbereitungen für die Einsetzung der neuen Schülervertretung. Die Leiter hatten mehrere Orientierungssitzungen und wertvolle Praxis.
Die Einführungszeremonie war wirklich farbenfroh. Da es sich um das Fest der Darstellung Jesu im Tempel handelte, wurden besondere Gebete für die neuen Führungskräfte gesprochen. Die Leiter legten den Amtseid ab als Präsident, stellvertretender Präsident, Gouverneure und stellvertretende Gouverneure der roten, gelben, grünen und blauen Häuser, Kabinettssekretäre verschiedener Ministerien, Klassensekretäre und Präfekten, jeder mit einer eigenen Rolle.
Das gesamte Verfahren, von der Nominierung der Führungspersönlichkeiten über die Vorstellung der Wahlprogramme, die Nominierung, die Wahl und die Amtseinführung, ist für unsere Mitarbeiter und Schüler sehr lehrreich. Das Verfahren folgt genau dem Lehrplan für Sozialkunde und hilft den Schülern zu sehen, was sie im Unterricht gelernt haben. Es eröffnet ihnen Möglichkeiten, ihre Führungsqualitäten zu trainieren, und der Prozess bereitet sie darauf vor, jetzt und in Zukunft große Führungspersönlichkeiten zu werden.

A eleição anual do Conselho Estudantil na Escola Notre Dame em Syokimau, Quênia, é sempre um evento empolgante. A seleção de candidatos ocorreu no dia 9 de janeiro de 2024, quando os estudantes se reuniram em suas casas designadas (Vermelha, Verde, Azul e Amarela) para propor potenciais líderes. Depois de serem indicados, os candidatos se encontraram com o Corpo Eleitoral e receberam instruções para preparar seus discursos de campanha.
Em 22 de janeiro de 2024, os candidatos indicados lançaram suas campanhas diante de toda a escola reunida. Nos discursos cuidadosamente preparados, prometeram ser líderes exemplares e apoiar os professores. No mesmo dia, os alunos se reuniram para as Eleições Gerais Escolares de 2024. O salão da escola foi designado como local de votação e todos os professores atuaram como oficiais eleitorais. O presidente da Comissão Eleitoral Independente Notre Dame fez um discurso aos estudantes e forneceu as diretrizes para o processo de votação. As cédulas de votação e as urnas foram disponibilizadas e o processo de votação transcorreu sem problemas.
Quando a contagem dos votos foi concluída, todos os alunos se reuniram no salão para o anúncio dos vencedores. O entusiasmo era evidente enquanto aguardavam para dar as boas-vindas aos seus novos líderes. Logo após as eleições, os preparativos para a posse do novo Conselho Estudantil iniciaram imediatamente. Os líderes participaram de diversas sessões de orientação e práticas importantes para se prepararem para seus papéis.
A cerimônia de posse foi uma celebração vibrante. Como coincidia com a Festa da Apresentação de Jesus no Templo, houve orações especiais pelos novos líderes. Eles prestaram juramento em suas respectivas funções, incluindo Presidente, Vice-Presidente, Governadores e Vice-Governadores das casas Vermelha, Amarela, Verde e Azul, Secretários de Gabinete de vários ministérios, Secretários de Classe e Prefeito, cada um com responsabilidades específicas.
Todo o processo, desde a indicação de possíveis líderes até o lançamento da campanha, nomeação, eleição e posse, é altamente educativo para os professores e alunos. Seguindo detalhadamente o Currículo de Estudos Sociais, o processo ajuda os alunos aplicarem o que aprenderam em sala de aula. Di sekolah Notre Dame kami di Syokimau, Kenya, pemilihan OSIS selalu menjadi acara yang menarik di setiap tahun ajaran baru. Pencalonan para calon pemimpin berlangsung pada tanggal 9 Januari 2024. Para siswa berkumpul di rumah masing-masing yang terdiri dari rumah Merah, Hijau, Biru, dan Kuning untuk mencalonkan pemimpin. Para pemimpin yang dinominasikan bertemu dengan Badan Pemilihan dan diinstruksikan untuk mempersiapkan pidato kampanye mereka.
Pada tanggal 22 Januari 2024, para pemimpin yang dinominasikan muncul di hadapan seluruh sekolah untuk meluncurkan kampanye mereka. Dalam pidato yang dipersiapkan dengan baik, mereka berjanji untuk menjadi pemimpin yang patut dicontoh dan menjanjikan dukungan mereka kepada staf. Para siswa berkumpul untuk mengikuti Pemilihan Umum Sekolah 2024 pada hari yang sama. Aula sekolah menjadi Tempat Pemungutan Suara (TPS), dan semua guru menjadi Petugas Pemungutan Suara (PPS). Ketua Komisi Pemilihan Umum Independen Notre Dame (IEBC) memberikan pidato kepada para siswa dan arahan untuk proses pemungutan suara. Surat suara dan kotak suara diletakkan di tempatnya. Proses pemungutan suara berjalan dengan lancar.
Tabulasi suara telah selesai. Semua siswa berkumpul di aula untuk pengumuman pemenang. Para siswa sangat antusias untuk menerima pemimpin baru mereka.
Persiapan untuk pelantikan kepemimpinan Siswa yang baru dimulai segera setelah pemilihan. Para pemimpin mengikuti beberapa sesi orientasi dan latihan yang berguna.
Upacara pelantikan benar-benar penuh warna. Dalam Hari Raya Penampakan Yesus di Bait Allah, intensi doa permohonan dikhususkan untuk para pemimpin baru. Para pemimpin mengambil sumpah jabatan sebagai Presiden, Wakil Presiden, Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur dari rumah Merah, Kuning, Hijau, dan Biru, Sekretaris Kabinet dari berbagai kementerian, Sekretaris Kelas, dan Prefek, masing-masing dengan peran yang unik.
Seluruh prosedur, mulai dari pencalonan pemimpin hingga peluncuran manifesto, pencalonan, pemilihan, dan pelantikan, sangat mendidik bagi staf dan siswa kami. Prosesnya secara cermat mengikuti Kurikulum Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial dan membantu para siswa melihat apa yang telah mereka pelajari di kelas.
