Regina Pacis province has been running a program called ‘Notre Dame Spirituality School’ for sisters who have lived more than 25 years of vowed life. This program, with various themes, has encouraged the sisters to live their religious vocation faithfully and to deepen their commitment to mission.
As the number of sisters who have already celebrated their silver jubilee and, therefore, joined this group has increased, this year’s Spirituality School introduced a new element to its usual program format: a lecture, ‘Notre Dame Spirit within Ministry Activities,’ which was incorporated into gatherings of each ministry sector.
On September 20 and 22, a workshop titled ‘Creating an ND Peace Culture’ was held in the Notre Dame Education Center in Seoul, following the usual format of the Spirituality School. Sr. Marie Carmel shared a reflection on ‘Peace’ from the viewpoints of the church and our congregation in the 175th anniversary year. In addition, using paper bricks with the name of each member of the province written on it, the participants constructed a symbolic house of peace, reminding us of our mission to build a true house of peace in the church as well as in the world.
Sr. Marie Angelica then led us in a meaningful and lively activity of sewing a quilt together to complete the sentence in English, ‘We are part of the great Notre Dame story.’
We are grateful to everyone who worked hard for this program, inspiring the sisters to become true apostles of peace in the church and the world.
