Sharing in the joy of Good Shepherd Sunday, many activities for vocation promotion were held in all parishes in Vietnam. We, Sisters of Notre Dame in Vietnam, shared the joy of consecrated life with young people, hoping that many young people will follow the Lord through our Congregation as we joined many programs in the parishes where we are serving.

Every year, our community is invited by Father Paul Phu to attend the vocation promotion program in his parish in Thanh Da. On the evening of the day before Sunday, we had an agape meal with all brothers and sisters from different congregations. After supper, we joined the program. Each Congregation introduced their charism, spirit, mission, and then performed a song or a dance as a group. We sang the song “175th Anniversary Anthem” and danced to the song “God of Wonders.” The next day, we attended Mass with the children and parishioners. After Mass, we were invited to each catechist’s class to talk about our congregation with the children.

We also participated in vocational promotion in Phu Cuong diocese. We went to interact with the children in the parishes, bringing them lovely gifts. At Trung My Tay parish, where our sisters have been serving, we were asked to conduct a vocation promotion program for the children. On the Good Shepherd Sunday, after morning Mass, we had a play telling how Jesus had called his disciples at the shores of Galilee, followed by the calling of Jesus to the little children. We had little children wearing a “mini- religious habit” representative of different congregations. (That religious habit had been made for this program every year at the parish.) Each one took a turn to introduce themselves as a member of the order. This made them feel so honored and happy. Through the closing dance to the song: “Lord, where are we going?” presented by the little ones, we gave everyone the message to have the courage to follow Christ; as the words of the song said: “wherever we go and whoever we meet, that place is our home and everyone is our brother and sister. For all are children of God and all are invited to be his witnesses of the Gospel to the world.”
