Praising God with music always makes our hearts beat faster and gives us inspiration. Praising God together does this even more.
The Incheon Regina Pacis Province has formed a praise team of sisters who want to gather and praise God. The name of the choir, Nlordy, means “The Lord’s melody sung by the Sisters of Notre Dame.” The sisters who participate in this choir take time from their ministries to write, play, and sing songs. Through this they want to bring God to people through music.
Since everyone is scattered all over the country and doing their ministries, it is difficult to get together and practice singing. Many announcements and exchanges of opinions are made through social media and, although there are occasional opportunities to meet in person and practice, they mostly practice on Zoom.
Today our song to share with the Notre Dame family around the world is a Christmas song called “Precious Baby” composed by Sister Marie Vera Lee. It is the first song the sisters in the choir sang and recorded in a video format.
The images used in the video are also the work of the sisters in our province. We pray that everyone who watches this video will be blessed by the precious baby Jesus who came to this world in desperate need of peace.
The lyrics are below:
The baby who’s come down from high heaven
to see what I see and feel what I feel.
This precious baby lies in a manger.
The baby who’s come down from heaven
to enrich poor me, to wipe my tears when I cry, to rejoice with me, and to grieve with me.
This precious baby lies in a manger in the night when sheep rest peacefully,
The night when stars fill the sky, and the parents pray in gratitude.
This precious baby smiles.
The baby of promise for us. The whole universe marvels and praises God.
For giving us this precious baby. The baby who will lead me to life
In order to forgive my sins, to remove my darkness, to open my eyes, and give me eternal life,
this precious baby lies in a manger.
