On July 7, the 58th anniversary of SND’s presence in Korea, a Mass was celebrated to mark the golden and silver jubilees of our sisters’ religious profession.
In 2000, the year of the 150th anniversary of our foundation, Sr. Marie Juliana, Sr. Marie Agnes, Sr. Maria Monica, and Sr. Maria Theresa celebrated their silver jubilee, while Sr. Maria Julie, Sr. Marie Woo-sung, Sr. Marie Rebekah, Sr. Maria Kolbe, Sr. Marie Carmel, and Sr. Maria Jin-Seo made their first vows. Since then, 25 years have passed, and during the congregational jubilee year, marking the 175th anniversary, they joyfully celebrated both the golden and silver jubilees together.
Fr. Paul Kang from the Incheon Diocese presided over the Mass, emphasizing during his homily that this moment is a time of grace and gratitude. Since it was the first joint celebration of the golden and silver jubilees in our province, many sisters throughout the country came to share and experience the blessed day.
We pray that God’s blessing will be ever present with the sisters who served Him alone and dedicated their lives to His mission. We also appreciate the love and prayerful support of many people, which has helped sustain their consecrated lives.
