Sisters, Sr. Cecilia Marie, Sr. Marie Teresa and Sr. Marie Aloysia began our tertianship at the Incheon provincial house on Jan. 7, 2025. This formation period as Sisters of Notre Dame has filled us with great joy and gratitude. We have had opportunities to experience several ministries in-depth and attended the provincial assembly.

Our daily prayers, Lectio Divina and various classes (including one on Trinity) deepened our insights and knowledge. In particular, the classes on provincial history made us thankful to all the sisters and for the fact that we can continue this history.

Our tertianship program included visits to multiple ministries: migration ministries in Suncheon and Goheung, Brethren House in Gwangju, Notre Dame Rehabilitation Center in Incheon, Social Welfare Center in Busan. Through these experiences, we witnessed the sisters’ dedication to their ministries and love for their students and co-workers. Their expertise was also impressive. The sisters of the communities we visited made us feel at home, offering great hospitality.

We are grateful to the province for providing us with a variety of experiences such as traditional Korean tourist sites, a digital gallery that adapts Korean art and history to modern life in a fascinating way, mountainous landscapes, various foods and cultures and the subway. We appreciate the sisters’ care so that we could cooperate and serve as members of the community and share our sisterhood and faith in Jesus in the Eucharist.

Our tertianship has been a truly humbling and grace-filled time God prepared for us. We cannot fully express the love the sisters have shown us. In gratitude for everything, we ask you to continue to bless us and pray for us. With your prayerful support, we will do our best to prepare ourselves to live our vows in Notre Dame.

Sr. Marie Aloysia, SND
