The international formation house for Mozambique, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania is located in Arusha, Tanzania. Every year the novices in their second year go to a local community for three months. They have an intensive time of the lived reality of the religious life they have been studying. They make great efforts to try and integrate prayer, community life and ministry. This experience helps the young woman to better discern her call to the consecrated life.
For the first time, novices have come to Uganda for this important part of their formation period. Novice directress Sister Mary Jyosita accompanied four novices on the 24 hour bus trip from Arusha, Tanzania through Kenya to Uganda. Sister Mary Sicholastic Tugumisirize and Sister Juliet Marie Nanyonjo went to Buseesa where they are teaching at St. Julie Primary Nursery and Primary School. Sister Finita Marie Pedro is a teacher helper at Notre Dame Nursery School in Mpala, while Sister Mary Assumpta Ahaisibwe is teaching lower grade classes at the parish primary school. Both communities are enjoying the energy and enthusiasm the novices bring to the schools and to the communities!
