Regina Pacis Province held nine Eco-spirituality seminars for all its members from March to October 2024 under the theme “Oh, Notre Dame, praise the Lord.” This was decided during the 2022 provincial chapter with the aim of living as transformers during a time marked by multiple climate disasters and an on-going climate crisis. The seminar sought to integrate the spirits of the papal encyclicals Laudato Si and Laudate Deum into our lives.
During the sessions, we looked at our vocation as consecrated religious within the ecclesiastical mission and reflected on how to live justice in our time. Alongside the “Laudato Si 7-Year-Journey,” our program included farming experience, resource circulation, plogging, and picketing. (Plogging which started in Sweden in 2016, is an amalgamation of the English word “jogging” and the Swedish word “plocka upp,” which means “picking up grains,” referring to running while collecting trash.)
We hope that our hymns praising God will become a harmony enlivening our common home, bringing comfort to all creatures, reflecting the Creator’s holiness, and serving as a song of hope in times of despair.
