The jubilarians in Kloster Annenthal traditionally get into the mood for the upcoming jubilee with a coffee in Holy Week, to which Sr M. Paula Wessel, the provincial superior, had been invited. On this occasion, stories from the beginning of their journey were told: How did I get to know the sisters? Why did I join? The exchange was very lively, sometimes humorous, sometimes very moving.

On Easter Monday, April 21, 2025 the jubilee retreat given by Fr Ludger Bornemann from Münster began in the evening,. As a house community, we had the joy of celebrating the Eucharist with the retreatants at 9:00 a.m., during which there was also a short sermon.  Sr M. Ursula Lammerding delighted us with Easter organ music.

The jubilee itself was celebrated on Saturday, April 26, the day on which Pope Francis was buried. We began quite early in the morning with the jubilee service, in which the retreat leader paid tribute to the jubilarians. This was followed by breakfast with a programme in three refectories.

The home and care service management of our senior centre as well as the two coordinators, Ms Hüppe and Ms Höink, were present. The chapel, house and dining rooms were festively decorated.

In the community in the south wing, Sr M. Paula congratulated 6 diamond jubilarians: Sr M. Gundula Höing, Sr M. Othildis Bollmann, Sr M. Berngarda Winking, Sr M. Almuth Göke, Sr M. Anntraud Westhoff and Sr M. Richildis Schültingkemper. In her speech, she said that the sisters had dared to make their vows in 1965 during a time of social and ecclesiastical upheaval.

Sister M. Margret Koch celebrated her diamond jubilee and Sister M. Hilliganda Rensing her jubilee of grace in Senior Centre 1, while Sister M. Agnesie Vennebörger and Sister M. Gertrudis Lohmann celebrated 65 years of commitment to the community in Senior Centre 2.

The obligatory photo session took place in the courtyard in the morning. On this occasion, the staff from the senior centre also congratulated them and presented each sister with a rose.

After festive vespers, Sr M. Richildis thanked the community on behalf of the Jubilarians for all the preparations that had made the day a real celebration.
