It was our delight to welcome our seven American Pilgrim sisters here in Rome from May 28 – June 10. They arrived in awe of what they had experienced in Germany for the prior two weeks. High on the list of favorite events was a holy hour in St. Lamberti Church conducted by Sister Maria Almuth. The pilgrims expressed deep appreciation for the warm welcome they felt everywhere they visited. The gracious hospitality and the loving care of all the sisters was tangible also during their visits to Tegelen and Namur.
In Rome we marveled at the energy and stamina of our dear sisters who were mostly Golden Jubilarians. They were enthusiastic to go everywhere – enjoying ancient Rome and sacred Rome. Of course a big highlight was the audience with the Holy Father where they had spectacular seats! Another treasured day for them was the trip to Assisi. They were blessed to have almost perfect weather.
A large number of our American sisters who are able to make the trip to Rome have done so, therefore, American pilgrim groups now come every other year. It will be our pleasure to welcome the next group in 2021. We hope all those who are able will take advantage of this wonderful Congregational experience!
