It was indeed a day of gratitude and celebration. We, the newly professed Sisters, Mary Neha Masih, Reshma, Selma, and Sukmani from Bangalore Province and Sushmita, Joyti, Esha, Shibani, Pooja, Evanjeline, Neha Madhuri, and Bibiyani from Patna Province would like to share with you the memorable day of our First Profession on May 24, 2025.

We were prepared for this day with many opportunities. The retreat before the Profession was a unique experience in preparation for saying “yes” to Jesus. “In faithful love, God has called us anew to a special consecration. We place all our trust in God.” The theme of our Profession was, “Here I am, Lord, I come to do your will.’’

The solemn ceremony began at 11.00 a.m. with the entrance procession gracefully led by our first-year novices, sisters, and the priests. The Holy Mass was officiated by Father Shaijumon SJ, the Provincial of Darjeeling Jesuit Province.

After the meaningful and inspiring sermon, the Profession ceremony began. The Profession of Vows was the heart of the ceremony. We processed two by two and professed our vows.

We were glad to receive the ring, which is the symbol of our religious consecration, from Sr. M. Alice, the Provincial Superior of the Assumption Province, Patna, and Sr. M. Chetana, the Provincial Superior of the Visitation Province, Bangalore, who accepted us to be members of the Notre Dame family. We are grateful to all the formators who have been our guiding stars to lead us to this day. We also sincerely thank all our sisters whose prayerful support we have always experienced.

After the Holy Mass, we had the cake cutting, followed by photo sessions and a melodious wish song. The First-year novices took us to the refectory with their rhythmic dance. We were privileged to have many sisters and priests, who encouraged and supported us with their gracious presence to make this day a very memorable one for us.

Srs. M. Sushmita, Bibiyani, Sukmani
