We, the postulants, would like to share with you our experience of the grace-filled day of our entrance into postulancy which took place on July 6, 2025, in our Chapel at Notre Dame Convent, Patna.
We are deeply grateful to Sister Mary Alice and Sister Mary Chetana, our Provincial Superiors, for accepting us and granting us permission to take another step in our religious life. We realize that it is a step forward to deepen our relationship with God and live more fully the charism of our congregation.
We had a three-day retreat in preparation for our entrance. We are grateful to Sister Mary Vijaya for her prayerful guidance, which helped us deepen our love for Jesus as we felt His gentle presence and listened to His call more clearly. The retreat ended with the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Holy Mass, offered by Rev. Fr. Jerome, our spiritual Father.
At 6:30 p.m. we gathered at the chapel entrance for the prayer service. The theme was “Called to Follow Jesus.” Holding lighted candles, we walked in procession into the chapel, each step symbolizing our desire to follow Jesus. Srs. Mary Jyotitya and Crecencia conducted the prayer service.
Sister Mary Alice gave an inspiring message about following Jesus more closely in our daily lives. Her words touched our hearts and stirred our spirits. One of the most touching moments was receiving the postulant medal from Sister Mary Alice. In that moment we felt that, like Mary, we said our own “yes” to God and sang the Magnificat—a song of gratitude, joy, and hope.
The presence of our sisters from the Provincial House and the Notre Dame communities made the celebration even more special. Their blessings and prayers reminded us that we are part of a larger spiritual family. The junior sisters sang a beautiful wishing song, and we enjoyed a joyful fellowship meal.
As we begin our postulancy, we look ahead with hope. Please continue to accompany us with your prayers that we may walk forward with courage and joy in the path of Jesus.
