It fills us with immense joy and gratitude to be in this phase of our formation as Sisters of Notre Dame! We are blessed to be part of a vibrant international group of SNDs, representing three countries. We are a group of twelve tertians: Sisters M. Emma Cindy Gatakaa and Magdalene Musila Mbula from Holy Spirit Delegation Tanzania/Kenya; Sisters. M. Yolenta and Magdalena from the Indonesian Province; Sister M. Sangeeta Jacob from Visitation Province Bangalore and Sisters.M. Deepti Tudu, Sabeena Soren, Meena Arulappa, Leena Margaret Japasthanappa, Rose Pariyathu, Rekha Chelva Raj and Josephine Rayappa from the Assumption province Patna.
We began our tertiate here in Patna Provincial house on June 23rd with an inspiring opening prayer service by our Tertian Director Sister Mary Sujita. Sister Mary Beena, our provincial Superior motivated and invited us to live up fully to the demands of our call. During the first few days we had some enriching and interesting sharing on our respective countries, especially with regards to our culture, traditions religions as well as the blessings and challenges of our particular country. This was followed by more activities to get to know one another. As a result already within a few days we began to feel a wonderful sense of unity and friendship among us as Sisters of Notre Dame.
During the next several days Sister Mary Amala led us to an energizing and transforming inner journey to our own inner resources and potentialities through the Intensive Journal and Emotional Integration. We have regular “desert days” to provide us with ample time for integration, solitude and deep prayer. You will hear more from us as we move forward in our tertiate. Meanwhile, may we ask for your blessing and continued prayers so that we may make full use of this privileged time to prepare ourselves as best as we can in order to live our call to Notre Dame in the spirit of Saint Julie, Sisters Maria Aloysia and Ignatia.
