From time to time, it is enjoyable to do a retrospective on relevant events and revisit special times in our life. Despite all the challenges, the Covid-19 pandemic has led human beings to stop and take a contemplative look so as to appreciate life.

On January 24, the Nossa Senhora Aparecida Province took a pause to contemplate the life journey of our Jubilarian Sisters of 2021. It was also a privileged occasion to experience the joy of the first profession of another Peruvian vocation in the province.

The Iron Jubilarians – 65 years of religious life – are Sisters Maria Aloysia Stockmanns and Maria Natalina Muraro; the Diamond Jubilarian – 60 years of religious life – is Sister Maria Priscila Bortolotto; the Golden Jubilarian – 50 years of religious life – is Sister Lari Maria Kauer, and the Silver Jubilarians – 25 years of religious life – are Sisters Dora Maria Nunes and Elaine Maria Jardim de Paulo.

After two years of novitiate, Sister Gloria Elizabeth Maria, a native of Trujillo, Peru, took a significant step in her religious journey by consecrating herself to God in the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame through her first religious profession.

The liturgy of these two important events – Jubilee and first profession – took place at the Provincial Center in Canoas and was presided by Father Cirineu Furlanetto. A group of Sisters from the Santa Cruz Province, Passo Fundo, joined us for the celebration: Sr. M. Dirce Slaviero, provincial superior; Sr. M. Inês Weber, novice directress; the first and second year novices, and Sr. M. Antônia Nogueira.

For the Jubilarians, the novice who professed her temporary vows, and for everyone present for the celebration, this day was one to be revisited to strengthen our love and gratitude to our good and provident God.
