“The gift I have received I will give as a gift” St. Irenaeus

Roseline was the youngest of nine children born to Michael and Helena (Lilly) Krafty in Venice, Ohio. Roseline became an aspirant in September 1935 as a freshmen in high school. After four years she entered the Sisters of Notre Dame in Toledo on January 28, 1939, joining her older sibling Sister Mary Walter Krafty.

The first few years of ministry found her a cook for the novitiate. She received a Degree in Education at Mary Manse College and began teaching grades 3 through 8 in the Catholic parish schools of the Toledo Diocese. Within ten years she became a principal with the dual role of teacher at various elementary schools in Ohio.

Her missionary heart led her to Papua New Guinea from 1967 to 1972 when she taught Standard 6 in Banz and 1993-1999 when she assisted as the Director for the Candidates.

In the interim between her times as a missionary, Sister Jamesetta ministered in a variety of responsibilities: teacher, tutor, principal, bookkeeper, finance assistant, receptionist; and superior at Lial Convent in Whitehouse, Ohio. She even accepted a part-time ministry as receptionist at the Ursuline Convent in Toledo when she was 80 years old.

In 1999, Sister Jamesetta undertook volunteer ministry at St. Michael Parish in Toledo and as pastoral minister from 2004-2015. Sister kept in contact with many parishioners from St. Michael Parish for the rest of her life, just one of the many ways she shared her joy, laughter, and attentiveness to others.

While a resident at the Sisters of Notre Dame Center in Whitehouse, Ohio, Sister used her many gifts in community service to assist the elderly sisters. Twice daily, Sister Mary Jamesetta walked from the House to Our Lady with rosary in hand. She then sat on her rollator, looked up at Mary, and prayed. Seeing her there, was an inspiration to many Sisters.

Sister was given the gift of long life and lived the century with vibrancy, humor, and grace. In December 2022, Sister’s health declined and on her own volition, Sister Mary Jamesetta said, “It’s time.” She willingly became a patient at Rosary Care Center in Sylvania, Ohio. Even when she could no longer hold long conversations with her visitors, she remained present to them.

On February 6, 2023, at the age of 101, in her 82nd year of religious profession, she entered her eternal home. She came to serve in any way she could. May she rest in the loving arms of our Loving God.
