Sunday, March 6, the Motherhouse community celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Sister Cormarie Rebhan and Sister Gina Marie Blunck, both members of the Motherhouse community and Sister Evanise Maria Zucatti a member of our Italian house. The day centered around a beautiful liturgy followed by a lovely traditional Italian meal. The Mass was concelebrated by three priests, Father Tom McClain, Father Jim Brady and Father Joe Geders, a Jesuit, a Montfort Father and a Vincentian respectively. Father Tom McClain gave the homily which reflected on gratitude for God’s faithfulness.

Guests included our Italian sisters, relatives, friends, and our lay employees. There was great joy in our refectory as all 70 of us enjoyed lively table fellowship. Sister Kristin in her welcome remarks before the meal commented that the responsorial psalm at Mass, “Taste and see the goodness of the Lord” expressed well what we were experiencing. Celebrating together was an experience of “tasting” the Lord’s Goodness in our lives.

In the evening, when just the local Casa Madre community was together, our sister language students greeted the Jubilarians with the song, “I will Follow You.” Sister Cormarie and Sister Gina Marie brought the festivities to a conclusion by expressing their deep gratitude for all the community had done to make the day a “Golden” memory.
