When we did our monthly recollection, the Busesa community turned with hearts of deep gratitude to our beloved pioneer Sister Maria Aloysia, our foundress, whose life of love, service, and care was the subject of our reflection, continuing to inspire us in ministry.
After our reflection, which was accompanied by adoration, we went to visit a nearby lady with several children. We took sweets and the children were filled with a lot of joy. This act reminded us of the love and caring heart of our Foundress and how she used to give candy to children. May we draw inspiration from her example and renew our commitment to be instruments of God’s love in our ministries, communities, and in our world.
In preparing the meal for the community, we faced some difficulties. Some of the food items were not available in the local markets and it was not easy to get all that was needed. Despite the shortages and struggles, we worked together and managed to prepare a beautiful meal that reflected the spirit of unity and love that Sister Maria Aloysia had lived so faithfully. After the preparation, we shared our meal of rice and pork/chicken. Since many sisters in our community do not drink milk, we prepared passion fruit juice instead of Vietnamese milk tea. We appreciate the richness of our internationality and will forever cherish it.
