Education

“From the beginning of our congregation,
Christian education in its various forms
has been our principal activity.”

As Sisters of Notre Dame we are engaged in education at all levels, from pre-school to university. In countries around the world, working in all socio-economic levels, we serve as principals, teachers, mentors, and tutors. As a community we continue to develop and strengthen our educational principles and engage in teacher training with concentration on education of the whole person: intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

At every level our ministries in education are governed by the
Four Educational Principles
which have served as cornerstones since our founding in 1850.

THE CENTRALITY OF A GOOD AND PROVIDENT GOD

THE HUMAN DIGNITY OF EACH PERSON AS AN IMAGE OF GOD

THE NOTRE DAME EDUCATOR AS A GOSPEL WITNESS

AN INTEGRATED EDUCATION FOR TRANSFORMATION
