We sealed an everlasting covenant with the Lord, Passo Fundo

The 2021 Jubilarians in Santa Cruz Province, chose the sentence “Seduced by the Lord, we sealed an everlasting covenant with Him” (Jer. 32:40) as the theme for the celebration of their consecrated religious life. The group of 26 Silver, Golden, Diamond, Iron, and Grace Jubilarians gathered for a seven-day retreat which culminated with a special Mass as well as a program and an expression of appreciation by the Province on January 12th. For the Jubilarians, it was a chance to share memories and sing hymns praising the Lord for His presence in their life´s journey. With a whole heart they were able to affirm again: “We sealed an everlasting covenant with the Lord!”

For the nine Golden Jubilarians it was also the opportune time to pay tribute to Sr. M. Odete, who had been their formator in the novitiate. Sister M. Odete who would have celebrated her Jubilee of Grace on this occasion, had been called to eternity 20 days earlier.

Due to the pandemic, neither the sisters from the jubilarians´ communities, nor members of their families and friends were able to attend the celebration. However, they could follow the festivities live stream through Facebook.

In previous years, Jubilees have always been a time for a Province gathering by which to celebrate, thank, and praise the Lord. This year, everyone willingly sacrificed the opportunity to attend the celebration in person in favor of protecting their life and health!
