Profession Day, Pekalongan, Indonesia

January 17, 2014 was a blessed day for our two novices, Srs. Maria Elfrida and Maria Paulina, who made the first profession of their vows in our Parish Church, in the Celebration of the Eucharist offered by Fr. M.B. Sheko Swandi, Pr, the Parish Priest.

Pekalongan was drenched with rain which resulted in floods here and there, including our provincial house. However, the profession ceremony went on well, free from the flood as it took place in the Parish Church. As Fr. Sheko said in his homily, we could not predict God’s plan, we could only trust his provident care. And surely we SND Sisters experienced god’s provident care and should be thankful for it. Fr. Sheko continued that it was the same with our vocation. There was no assurance whether we would continue to walk on the way of our vocation as religious. There would be assurance only when we died. So we should make efforts to be faithful to our vocation.

The conclusion of the evening was a happy celebration of thanksgiving with families, friends and the invited guests.
