After a much anticipated move, the Toledo Sisters of Notre Dame are settled in at the new Sisters of Notre Dame Center on the Lial Campus in Whitehouse, OH. The Center is comprised of four houses which are connected by a central area that features a 175-seat chapel, and also a library, craft room, conference center, reflection room, and music rooms.

Each house has ten bedrooms, a living area, laundry room, computer room and a kitchen/dining space.

Construction of the center began in early 2015 and the sisters moved from the Toledo Provincial Center to their new home in the middle of December.

They thought of their new home as a Christmas gift from God. Our elder sisters really feel at home and enjoy the natural splendor of the Lial campus,” said Sr. Mary Delores, provincial.

Life in the new Center is going well and the sisters appear to be enjoying their new space, taking part in preparing meals and appreciating the 94 wooded acres where the center is located.

When the new Center was blessed on January 7, 2016, Capital Campaign Committee member, Dottie Pienta observed,

The Sisters seem so happy and we are delighted to see their gladness in the new surroundings. The Chapel is so beautiful and is the spiritual and architectural focal point of the Center.”
