As we celebrate the Golden Jubilee of our mission at Sheikpura, we rejoice and reminisce the manifold gifts God has bestowed on this mission. Maria Ashram School, which is situated among the rocky hills of Sheikhpura in Bihar, has developed by leaps and bounds during the course of 50 years, under the guidance of dedicated Sisters and Fathers.

The mission in Sheikhpura, a vision of the Patna Diocese, started in the year 1944. With the arrival of the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1973, the possibilities of reaching out to the poor and the marginalized became a reality. The Sisters almost immediately found ways of serving people through the fields of education, social action and health care.

On 21st March 2015, the joy of the Golden Jubilee started with the Eucharistic celebration by Rev. Archbishop William D’Souza and 19 Priests who concelebrated with him. It was truly an enriching, enlightening and gratuitous experience for all. There were several Christians and Non-Christians who witnessed and participated in the Holy Eucharist. On this historic day, the encouraging presence of Sister Mary Saina,  the Assistant Provincial Superior and number of Sisters from Patna, Jamalpur, Munger, Barh and the neighboring Religious and Parents doubled our joy.

The Mass was followed by the mesmerizing entertainment programme by our students. The distinguished guests, dignitaries, Sisters and Fathers who have toiled hard were felicitated and honored. It was indeed, a day filled with sentiments of love and gratitude for everything God has done through us.
