On April 11, 2015, a group of 77 Covington Sisters of Notre Dame and 20 of their partners in mission took part in the Covington Province’s annual Day of Service.

The Day of Service participants visited multiple community outreach agencies in Greater Cincinnati. Service activities included painting fences, visiting with elderly residents, and cleaning facilities and grounds. Sisters who were unable to visit the sites in person wrote letters and cards, which their volunteer partners delivered to individuals at the various sites.

After a morning of paying it forward in Jesus’ name, the Day of Service volunteers convened at the St. Joseph Heights Provincial Center to share in a Gospel reading, group reflection, and lunch. When Sr. Mary Ruth Lubbers, the Day of Service chairperson, asked the group of volunteers if they wanted to do it again next year, she received a loud round of applause and cheers!
