Sisters of Notre Dame and Associates supported Cleveland “Walk for Justice” for immigration reform on July 9, 2016.

The Plain Dealer reported 1,000 people participated in the 1.5 mile walk through the streets of Downtown Cleveland.  Members of faith communities, advocates for the dignity of workers and those interested in the protection of vulnerable populations joined together for  this powerful walk.

Five locations were selected where participants could pause to learn, reflect, and pray for comprehensive and compassionate immigration reform that includes a path to citizenship.

Thanks to the Sisters of Notre Dame who participated: Sisters Barbara Daugherty, Regina Davala, Linda Marie Gecewicz,  Rita Mary Harwood, Dion Horrigan, Michelle Marie Kelly, Cecilia Liberatore, Kathleen Lyons, Marie Manning, Mary Ann McFadden, Dolores Mikula,  Donna Marie Paluf, Renee Pastor, Kathleen Mary Ryan, Kathleen Tobin and our associates Lorna Greicius, Carol Iseli and Juanita Vargo.

Special recognition goes out to Sister Rita Mary Harwood, SND, coordinator of the walk and her committee. Their months of preparation created such a caring, respectful atmosphere.
