Tragedy in Thousand Oaks, California

On November 16, 2018, Sister Mary Kristin sent a letter asking prayer for the victim and their families of the tragic shootings at the Borderline Bar and Grill which took place in Thousand Oaks, California. This event was followed by the devastating fires around the city and region.

Several of our families were among those ordered to evacuate. We housed several people at our provincial center for a few days while the fires raged near their homes. We were close enough to be able to see fire and smoke fill the air around us.

Now it is one month later that we are so grateful for God’s protection and thank everyone for their prayer and concern. We hosted a First Responders Luncheon today and invited our local fire persons to join us. We are very grateful for those who were able to come.
