Sister Mary Prima’s sharing on the celebration of Perpetual Vows- Patna, India

On May, 15th 2021, I, Sister Mary Prima from the Assumption Province, Patna, pronounced my Pepetual Vows to the Lord. The Eucharistic Liturgy began at 6:00 am, presided over by Most Reverend Sebastian Kallupura, the Archbishop of Patna. Sister Mary Tessy received my Vows as the representative of Sister Mary Kristin.

The colorful floral arrangements in the chapel, the singing and dance, the attractive bulletin boards and the singing in my own native language, created a uniquely festive mood in spite the COVID restrictions.
I remember with much love and gratitude my parents, brothers, sisters and relatives who could not be present because of Covid lockdown.

At the end of the Profession Ceremony each Sister wished me, not with the traditional hug, but with her folded- hands, keeping the Covid- distance.

I offer my heart-felt gratitude to Sister Mary Kristin, my Superior General, Sister Mary Tessy, my provincial, my formators from the time of candidacy on and all the sisters in the different communities. Sister Mary Sujita, my tertian directress, has kindled a fire within me to serve Jesus with love, joy and total commitment. A special thanks to dear Sr. Mary Chetana and all our Sisters in the Visitation Province for welcoming me into their community and caring for me during my Tertiate. May Mother Mary, our perfect model and inspiration, hold me close to her heart.
