February 23, 2020
“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.” – 1 Chronicles 16:34
December 29th 2019, marked a significant day of grace in the history of the Visitation Province, Bangalore. We witnessed the installation ceremony of our new provincial superior and her team. The Julie Hall in the provincial house resounded with joyful hymns of praise and thanks to God during the Holy Mass and the installation ceremony. The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr. Daniel Raj, SJ, at 7:00 am.
With the theme CALLED, BLESSED, BROKEN & SHARED, Sr. Mary Sreeja, assistant general, led the installation ceremony which started at 9:15 am. Sister Mary Sandhya and her team of councilors were appreciated and acknowledged for their committed service to the province for the past nine years. Each of them received a lighted candle to spread the light of Christ wherever she may go in the future. The new provincial superior and her team were entrusted with the mandate to carry on the mission of Jesus as each one was presented with a Bible in a symbolic gesture:
Sister Mary Chetana SND, Provincial Superior
Sister Mary Kripa SND, First Councilor
Sister Mary Satya SND, Provincial Councilor
Sister Mary Alpana SND, Provincial Councilor
In the spirit of total surrender to the will of the Father, Sister Mary Chetana assumed the responsibility of leading the province and in response the Sisters sang “Lead us on, O Lord, lead us on…” Soon after the installation ceremony Sister Mary Chetana addressed the members of the province. This was a grace filled time for each of us. We appreciated the presence of Sister Mary Sreeja for this time of grace and blessings.
All the Sisters congratulated the new provincial team in gratitude for their availability and we wish them God’s abundant blessings for the years ahead.
