Hearty Welcome to Emmaus Haus, Coesfeld, Germany

Together with our next door neighbors, the sisters at Emmaus Haus organized a neighborhood party for those who live on Vogelsang and behind our house. Invitations were personally delivered, giving us a chance to introduce ourselves.

The sisters baked two kinds of bread and cheese pockets, made dips, cucumber and potato salad, and two desserts. Our neighbor grilled and provided drinks.

As our twenty-eight guests arrived, we mingled and enjoyed drinks. We lingered outside on our neighbor’s porch since the rain came.

Dessert was served at Emmaus House. Sister Almuth shared the history of the Sisters of Notre Dame and how our Emmaus Community came into being. After Sister finished, all of the neighbors clapped. A few commented how they enjoy hearing the laughter from our house and the singing when the community prays in chapel. Everyone seemed to enjoy our party.
