Diamond and Golden Jubilee Celebration at Sasaram, Patna, India

The joy of the double Jubilees was tangibly felt by the 21 SNDs gathered at Notre Dame  Convent, Sasaram on November 26^th to thank and praise God for the 60 years of Jesuit presence and 50 years of SND service. The main celebrant for the Eucharistic celebration was Rt. Rev. Sebastian Kallupura, Bishop of the Buxar Diocese with concelebrants Rev. Jose Vadassery, SJ, the Jesuit Provincial, and Rev. Stephan Raj, SJ.  Many priests and religious from neighboring missions as well as a large number of well-wishers worshipping in the once abandoned church, was a touching sight.

The solemn and colorful celebration brought together the young and the old and filled our hearts with hope for the future. The presence of the District Magistrate and other dignitaries was a testimony to the tireless energy of our missionaries working for the welfare of all God’s people in spite of the tragedies that took place. It was truly grace and gratitude coming together in celebration of the Giver of All Good Gifts!
