Audience with Pope Francis

The Formation Conference participants attended the general audience of Pope Francis on Wednesday, November 20.  The day started early with the group taking buses to the Vatican and gathering with the usual crowds of people who come to see and hear Pope Francis.  The Pope took almost 45 minutes driving around the crowd blessing everyone especially children and the infirmed.  His message to us was on the need for reconciliation trusting in our God who is a good and merciful God.  The Pope’s simplicity and honesty is attractive to the whole crowd no matter the language differences.

The participants were free the rest of the day to see the city of Rome.  Groups of SND’s could be found in the small shops, at the Church of Gesù, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain or at the Pantheon.  With one free day each week, the sisters made good use of their free time in the city.
