On Saturday, Oct. 23, a bazaar was held under the theme “You and Me, the Value of Being Together” in the front yard of Notre Dame Brethren House. Initially having been an adoption center, the institute has changed into children’s home and was taken over by our Province on Sep. 1, 2013.

As our first Sisters ministering here thought about ways of educating for living, they implemented a sticker rewarding system to improve children’s behavior. This is how they started holding a bazaar using those stickers. Since the children have behaved themselves better, we have been pondering over the nature of the bazaar and this year’s event became even more special with its new meaning.

Receiving compliment stickers for their improved behavior, children might exchange items with other children or staffs. Candy making, nail art, face painting, balloon art, 70’s and 80’s fashion show and a game booth corner were created so that they can experience a sound game culture. Naturally plenty of various foods, an essential part of such events were also prepared.

Amidst difficulties with Covid 19, the bazaar was an enriching feast that enabled children and staffs to enjoy happy moments by sharing and giving against the materialistic trend of the time.
