In Mark 3:1-6, Jesus challenges the crowd and invites the man with a withered hand: “Get up to the middle”. In Jesus, God is amazing in his signs. He called Sister Maria Dorotéia to the center, to himself, to eternal life. On January 16, 2018, around 10:20 pm, in Não-Me-Toque, God passed visibly among us and called our dear Sister M. Dorotéia at the age of 93 years and 6 months.

We treasure her example and witness of simplicity, her joy and serenity peculiar to a life lived for God, serving those who Jesus preferred most: the children. “The disciples had argued about who was the greatest. Jesus took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them: ‘Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name, welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me, does not welcome me but the one who sent me’” (Mk 9:36ss). May God reward Sister for all the good she did and grant her eternal life.

Clementina Grison was born on July 11, 1924, in Charrua, at the time belonging to Tapejara, RS. She is the second child of João Batista Grison and Albina Costa Grison. The desire to enter religious life increased according to her growing in age. She joined the Sisters of Notre Dame on January 17, 1941. After initial formation, she made her first profession on July 1944, in Passo Fundo, RS.

Since the novitiate and after profession, for many years Sister Maria Dorotéia ministered in different schools in the south of Brazil, always teaching small children, especially first and second grades. She loved the children and they loved her. Later on, she devoted herself to community service, especially in the kitchen until 2010, when she was transferred to Casa Betania, the Health Care Center. Here, in addition to the ministry of prayer, she occupied herself crocheting and doing other little jobs.

During the many years in Religious life, she had the opportunity to celebrate her Silver, Golden, Diamond, Iron and Grace Jubilees. In July 2018, she would have completed 74 years of Consecrated Religious Life.  Sr. M. Dorotéia was a joyful person, witty and humorous, having a good word for everyone in any circumstance. She included all in her prayer, especially the rosary, through which she demonstrated her devotion to Our Lady.

Sr. M. Dorotéia died as she lived, without giving much trouble to those around her. There were only a few hours between Sunday, the 14th, when she didn´t feel well until the night of January 16, when she passed away. We believe in her intercession for more vocations to priesthood and religious life.  Rest in the peace!
